ABOUT THE ROLE

Kinnara is currently looking for a part-time Operations Manager to help us maintain our organizational efficiency. As the Operations Manager, you'll play a vital role in executing our concert cycles, ensuring that both artists and audiences have a positive experience. Your primary responsibilities will include managing our box office, overseeing volunteer and usher schedules, and collaborating with our Artistic Director and board of Trustees to promote our events and mission. You'll also serve as the primary point of contact for external communication and attend board meetings to provide support to the Artistic Director and Board of Trustees.

While a basic understanding of the arts and music is important, an interest or background in choral music is a bonus. We're looking for a detail-oriented candidate who can work independently and as part of a team, and who possesses a can-do attitude. Above all, the ideal candidate will represent our organization positively and professionally and be punctual and hardworking in all aspects of their work.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain all administrative systems, including the donor/audience database and timelines/calendars for operations, development, concert cycles, and board activities, facilitating the efficient and consistent functioning of the organization.

  • Manage all aspects of concert cycle production, including artist travel and accommodation; venue contracts and communication; rehearsal and performance schedules; room setup and teardown; and instrument and equipment rental; ensuring high-quality performances and a positive experience for artists and the audience.

  • Oversee box office procedures and management, including online and on-site ticket sales, to ensure efficient and accurate processing of ticket sales and revenue collection.

  • Coordinate volunteer and usher schedules to ensure adequate coverage for events and provide volunteers with necessary training and support.

  • Collaborate on the creation and dissemination of marketing materials, email campaigns, and social media content to promote the organization's events and mission.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for incoming and outgoing external communication, representing the organization in a professional and positive manner.

  • Attend board meetings as an ex-officio member and provide support to the Artistic Director and Board of Trustees as needed, including preparing reports and updates on organizational activities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Represent Kinnara professionally and positively in all job functions, demonstrating punctuality and a strong work ethic.

  • Take initiative, maintain organization, and follow a process-oriented approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Foster a collaborative and communicative work environment, showing a willingness to learn and apply new skills.

  • Possess a basic understanding of the arts and music, with an interest in choral music being a plus.

  • Reside in the Atlanta metro area with the ability to travel, if needed, for touring projects.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

  • This position offers remote work for an average of 10-12 hours per week, although the workload may vary depending on the proximity of concert cycles and events on the calendar.

  • The Operations Manager is required to attend on-site rehearsals and performances during the four concert cycle weeks per year.

  • The position includes six weeks of paid time off (PTO) per year, which may be taken during the off-season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) or non-consecutively during the season, provided that it does not overlap with Kinnara project weeks.

  • The compensation for this part-time 1099 contractor position is approximately $12,000 per year, and will be based on the candidate's experience.

At Kinnara, we value and draw strength from the diversity of our singing and listening collaborators, and we are committed to integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into every aspect of our work. We enthusiastically welcome and encourage applications from individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, races, genders, gender identities and expressions, nationalities, ages, spoken languages, veteran status, colors, religions, disabilities, sexual orientations, and beliefs.

Applications will be held confidentially. The application deadline is April 15, 2023. The position is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and reports to the Artistic Director.
